UNITA Nature: Natural Hazards Common Days
2-6 September 2024
The Faculty of Civil Engineering from Transilvania University of Brasov is excited to announce the organization of a Blended Intensive Program (BIP) as part of the Erasmus programme. This event, titled UNITA Nature: Natural Hazards Common Days, will take place from 2 to 6 September, 2024.
The programme aims to provide students with a strong foundation in the assessment, quantification and spatial mapping of natural hazards and their role in disaster risk management.
By the end of the program, students will receive 6 ECTS and achieve the following outcomes:
- Knowledge and understanding: gain in-depth knowledge of the concepts of hazard, vulnerability, and risk, along with methods of integrated risk analysis and management.
- Research skills: develop the ability to carry out bibliographic studies and consult and critically use scientific databases and other information sources.
- Critical awareness: enhance critical awareness of economic, organizational, and management aspects, such as project management, risk management, and change management.
- Communication skills: improve the ability to communicate ideas and arguments effectively in written form regarding risk and natural hazards.
UNITA Nature: Natural Hazard Common Days is designed for undergraduate, master, and Ph.D. students who have an interest in the study and management of natural hazards. We encourage all interested students to take advantage of this unique opportunity to enhance their understanding and skills in the critical field of natural hazard management.
